IT'S A BOY!!!

We are VERY proud to announce the arrival of our precious little boy CALEB ROY JOHNSON! He arrived at 10:05am on Friday, May 29th. He weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces and was 21 inches long. Contractions started Thursday afternoon and by the middle of the night were close together and indicating it was time to get to the hospital. We arrived about 3am and I had my epidural working by about 4:30am. After that point I was much happier and it was a waiting game until about 9:30 when it was time to push and meet our baby. We were delighted to hear we had a new little boy to add to our family. He is named for Caleb in the Bible who was faithful and trusted God wholeheartedly. Also he is named for Kevin's grandfather Roy Ferdinand Johnson, my grandfather Roy Douglas Beavers, and Kevin's father Ralph LeRoy Johnson.

We left the hospital at noon on Sunday. Caleb didn't get to go home right away. First he had to attend his big sister's tap performance. Then he got to check out his new home, have a little rest, and then we were off to my parents' 40th anniversary party. We were pretty pooped when we all got home!! A wonderful part of Caleb's timing for arrival is that he got to meet his great-grandparents Doug & Kathleen Beavers who were visiting from Florida!! What a treat! :)

Things have been pretty crazy these first 5 days but we are so thankful for our 3 beautiful children and their health. Emily is crazy about her new little brother... Andrew is coming around to the idea. :) At first he was explaining to Emily that Caleb was not his brother nor her brother. :) He's needed some extra attention at this time which is completely understandable. Three can be a tough age for a major life change.... :)

Well, that's our last 5 days in a sum up. We love you all, dear family and friends! Thank you for your prayers for this huge arrival in our lives and for your continued prayers as the 5 of us adjust to each other and our new rhythm of life.
